    Default British Citizenship Issues

    Hello knowledgeable people,

My partner became a British Citizen a few days ago. We are both Poles. She is going to be the main applicant on our joint application for the residence visa - SMC.

As she is now a British Citizen, will she still have to provide a language certificate? We both have lived in the UK permanently since 2006, but she became British a few days/weeks ago.

As per SM4.5 c,i : "citizenship of Canada, the Republic of Ireland, the United Kingdom or the United States of America, provided the applicant has spent at least five years in work or education in one or more of those countries or Australia or New Zealand; or.."

Is going to be one of those tricky issues, which means that citizenship first, plus 5 years in employment but already as a citizen of the UK?

    Thank you in advance.

As written at the link, I doubt anyone is going to be able to answer this question, since the change in the law is quite recent, so there aren't many people around, comparatively, who have used this process yet.
