Default Claim points for self tax paid Job experience

    Hi,

I worked on job after my studies as a Junior developer in Auckland

However, I paid my own tax for the salary I got from them and I worked from home almost all the time. ( They are a small company and they do not have a fixed place)

My salary was less than 20$ per hour and I worked more than 40 hours per week.

Can I claim that experience as one year New Zealand experience ?

I heard that, I can not use it because I did not get my salary through their payroll.

    Thank you.
    dnsuriya.

Do you have any proof of where that pay came from?

    Thanks for your reply JandM

yes my account statements has their name.
Also I have email history which I sent to the company email (I had to send work log with the invoice in each month. I have not registered for GST, since my annual income was less than 60k)

You need to check with the detailed regulations to see if what you have done will get you the points.

Here https://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/#66802.htm is the regulation about skilled work experience in NZ.

And here https://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/#66796.htm is where you look at the other provisions mentioned.

(As you will see, there is nothing in there about how your pay reached you. You say, 'I heard that, I can not use it...' Out of interest, where did you hear that from?)

Few Months ago, I talked to a LIA. She said about that.
Also she said that I can not apply for PR, if I have don't have permanent position. But through this forum, I learnt that I can apply to PR, even if I have fixed term contract for more than 12 months.

And thank you for the information JandM

Mmm. It sounds as though that LIA might not be one to employ, if you thought about using any - !

Those links I posted above are to pages in the INZ operational manual, and anyone can find ALL the regulations there, about ALL kinds of NZ visas.
