Default Seeking Urgent Help - Sending Passport overseas

    Hi guys,

I'm really in a situation where I don't know what to do any more. I'm trying to bring my fiancee through culturally arranged marriage visa. We are doing this through a lawyer and the application has been submitted online last week.
First email we got which is an automatic email saying that the passport should be sent to the nearest application centre for verification. My partner is from Morocco. According to this website:

    https://www.immigration.govt.nz/abou...-your-passport

Citizens of Morocco should not send their passport directly to the VAC. We learned this the hard way because my partner went to DHL to send the passport and they told her if we didn't check what's inside, you could've been in a big trouble.

Anyway, now that the application has been allocated to a case officer, the branch's technical adviser replied to my lawyer and literally said:
"I understand that applicants from Morocco cannot send their passport outside the country and hence they need to go to the nearest VAC personally and submit the passport. While this may not be ideal, this is the only way that the passport can be submitted for Verification".

The nearest VAC is in Dubai. Where is she going to stay there, and how long it will take until she get a visa to Dubai. Not to mention that it's difficult for her family to let her travel alone. Her parents don't have passports as they never left the country. It's just too much to handle. Has anyone experienced anything like this or know what should I do? The lawyer's answer was simply "that's the only way to do it".

Appreciate any help I can get.

    Thanks

She can travel to Ankara without a visa.

You are dealing with INZ, part of a foreign government, and the lawyer's attitude is correct - the NZ government doesn't take any account of the fact that some of their requirements are difficult for an individual to carry out. It doesn't matter TO THEM if one person won't meet a requirement because it's awkward and will therefore get their application rejected.

In your fiancée's case, you and she and her family will have to find a way for her to go to a VAC, even if this includes arranging for someone to escort her.

Moroccans need a visa for the UK (and UAE) -- not for Turkey.

Thanks guys. I have applied for Dubai visa because at least I have relatives there who can take care of her. In case if that one got rejected (because she's single Moroccan woman under age of 30) then I'll do as 'sks' suggested and fly her to Turkey. At least I wouldn't need to worry about the visa but will look for some sort of agency who can guide her through the process while she's in there.

    Fingers crossed.
