I Miss New Zealand
I am a 84 year old Yank living back in California to be near family after living in New Zealand every six months for 25 years. I married a Kiwi living in California after the death of my first wife.I retired shortly there after and made my first trip to NZ with her via Tonga. She leaves California tonight for NZ where she will now live to be near her family.
Age, health and family is a factor as to where we settle down as we age.
My time in NZ was some of the best times of my life since retiring 26 years ago and I miss and will continue to miss my Kiwi friends and relatives.

It's a wonderful country, and I, too, miss my relatives who live there.

Being far from loved ones is probably the hardest part for most of us, especially when there is no one place that is "close to family." I'm sorry you're having to go through all that, hugs.

That's correct. I intended to apply, but then INZ changed the requirements for the parent visa, so my circumstances would never fit (and that was years before they suspended the category, as it is at present).

That's kind. But there, that ship sailed a long time ago now, and life goes on. Thank goodness for living these days, with the internet to keep us in touch.

It takes so much dedication to keep up with this forum, even though you'll not directly benefit from all this knowledge. Thanks for being there
