SMC Applications submitted in January 2019

My final update:
Lodgement date: 30 Jan 2019
CO assigned: 04 Sep 2020
CO first contact: 11 Sep 2020
CO contacted employer: 21 Sep 2020
CO 2nd questions to employer: 5 October 2020
Update ANZSCO code: 5-6 October 2020
CO received NSC result and 2PC: 15 Oct 2020
Final approval letter&eVisa, online status changed to resident: 06 Nov 2020

No AIP letter and passport not required.

It took 5 weeks for CO assessment, 3 weeks for 2PC, 8 weeks in total for me, including 2 weeks that was wasted in updating ANZSCO code. So I think the current processing time is about 6 weeks for "normal" applications if moving smoothly, and it becomes uncertain, potentially long, if anything is stuck in the process.

It has been a long journey that comes to the end finally with big relief. Hope your time will come too.

18th Jan 2019 – File lodgment
Applied for escalation many times – Rejected
24th Aug 2020 – CO Allocated
3rd Sept 2020 – File Transferred to special assessment team in Wellington
5th Oct 2020 – CO from SAT requested to fill INZ1200 form
6th Oct 2020 – Application submitted for external third-party verification
3rd Nov 2020 – Check completed and application transferred back to original CO in Manukau
14th Nov 2020 – went for 2PC
25th Nov 2020 – came back to CO for some minor work
26th Nov 2020 – requested extra documents
27th Nov 2020 – submitted
3rd Dec 2020 – went for 2PC again
4th Dec 2020 – Online status changed to Approved
