    Post ITA October 2018

    Hi,

Is there anyone who lodged the application in October 2018? If so, have anyone heard from INZ?

My application was lodged on 30-Oct-2018. I'm still waiting for CO to be assigned. Please share your timelines and let's discuss

    EOI: 30.08.2018
    ITA: 12.09.2018
    ITA sent: 17.10.2018
Lodged (status on system): 30 oct 2018
    ..still waiting

    Regards,

Mine was lodged on the 24th of October, still awaiting a CO. There is apparently a huge backlog at INZ Manukau - so I guess we just have to be patient. Friend of mine lodged 3rd of October and got a CO this morning.. so I am guessing towards the end of February

I've just asked for an update from one of the SMC team managers to ask what date applications were lodged that are being allocated this week - will post here when I get an update. They should be up to October applications either now or very soon.

Immigration Manager of the SMC Manukau team has confirmed that they are allocating applications from "early October" now (no specific date in October sorry!).

Thank you! I saw some post last year where they have mentioned to increase the INZ support/manpower to expedite the process. Have you heard any update on that?

There are now 6 SMC teams in the Manukau office, with a total of 68 Immigration Officers processing SMC applications across those 6 teams. This is an increase from 52 Immigration Officers in 5 SMC teams last year. There are also 15 new recruits in what is called the "Development Team" - this is basically a small "incubator" team, where new recruits are trained and then sent out to various teams across the Manukau office - they could go to the SMC team but they may also go to other processing teams once they are trained up.

Unfortunately it's not as simple as adding more staff to make the process go faster - all staff need to be processing as efficiently as they can to reduce the backlog by any meaningful number, which unfortunately doesn't seem to be happening at the moment, based on some of the applications I'm representing that are being dealt with by staff in the Manukau office.

Hallo Egoodhue, thank you for your continuous contribution on this platform. Just out of curiocity wanted to ask something, i applied for my Essential Skills Visa from Africa on 19 December 2018, & was told that i was assigned a Case Officer on 14 January 2019 and i have heard nothing from them. My question is:
    1. Does this mean that i passed my medicals since i haven’t heard anything from the CO upto now.
    2. Approximately how much longer can i wait before a decision is made considering that my Work Refrences haven’t been contacted as well.
    3. Since INZ is receiving high volumes of applications this season have they boosted manpower which specialises in Essential Skills Visas as well?
