I just called for an update on my application that has been with a CO for a month now. She was nice and took time to go through the notes. She said that the co was waiting on a NZ police certificate.

I'm quite surprised though that after a month this is something INZ couldn't request earlier in the process?

The update yesterday was that there was nothing outstanding. There was an internal medical assessment request that finalized on Monday. So this police clearance must have been requested today.

I'm praying this is the last the co is waiting for. She also said 10 days ago that she was going to call me "some time soon" but she didn't. So I'm really wondering if thats still gonna happen or if she's satisfied with my skilled employment.

We'll see I guess.

It's entirely possible that INZ did request this earlier, and the delay is with the Ministry of Justice... either way, it sounds like the Immigration Officer will be able to recommend a decision when that comes through.

I had another call this evening and so she was able to confirm that my co updated the file yesterday and gave my partner an Acceptable Standard of Health, which is a big relief. She could only tell me that they were waiting on "external checks" outside the control of INZ. She could not tell me what those checks were.
