    I've seen some posts about visitor visas being declined. It seems to be a wider problem, here are some recent news articles:

    Thanks although the system should apply clear rules like in immigration it seems that they make visitor visa more hard to achieve than applying for PR which does not make sense.
    I have personaly a clear case that I know her very well and she have a 2 year child in her custody and her visa declined twice

    That's interesting. It's almost sounding as though they have a "grey" department set up, with a list somewhat like NSC's for places to which unpublicized parameters apply. Some people are more equal than others - not good.

    I’m not sure how many people work for INZ but I’ve always learnt “internal is external” - someone will talk and the information will find its way to the wrong person / media.

    I don’t believe it’s the case - apart from the fact that a lot of countries don’t need a visitor visa so they are already deemed low risk
