Declaring partner but NOT included in application for SMC

Hi

I have declared I am in a partnership on my skilled migrant category visa however I am NOT including him in my application (I don't need too as I have enough points without him!)
My partner is an NZ citizen and I have given him information such as passport details as required.

Just wanted to know what do immigration do with this information if he is not included?

The information stays on file.

In your particular case, as your partner is a NZ citizen, no use is ever likely to be made of the information, but for other people whose partner has also immigrated, it can be useful to INZ to know the connections to verify things in the event that other members of either family later applied for visas and mentioned your couple as people of theirs already in New Zealand.

(And you COULDN'T include him on your ITA, because he's already a NZer - it's only partners who are also immigrating who can be counted.)
