Default Possible changes in current employment with pending SMC Application

    Hi all,

I am hoping someone in the forum can give a clear advice on my current situation.

I have a pending SMC Visa application now. I currently work as Market Research Analyst, and this is what I've put in my application. But the company is now proposing a business organizational restructuring. My current position will be disestablished and a new role will be created which is Commission and Systems Analyst.

My qualifications are Statistics (Bachelors I gained from my home country) and Business Diploma Level 7 (gained in NZ). I find the position as more of an IT Business Analyst, but I don't have IT qualification. Only work experience on commissions analysis and calculations.

Will this affect my visa application if I accept the new position?

I am really hoping someone could give me advice/directions because my company will finalise their decision by next week.

    Thank you so much.

Yes, your application will be affected by any change in your job. You have to notify INZ of what is happening, and they have to check out the details of the new job instead of of the one you had previously submitted. If your present work visa names your present job, you would need a VOC for that, too.

As you know, to be granted residence under SMC, you need to have a skilled job in NZ for which you can be seen to be qualified. If you needed to claim the points for LTSSL to reach the 160 minimum to get your EOI selected, it seems you will lose those points if submitting the new job you're being offered, because you don't have an IT qualification as listed. http://skillshortages.immigration.go...siness-analyst If you don't need the LTSSL points, perhaps you meet the ANZSCO requirement: "At least five years of relevant experience and/or relevant vendor certification may substitute for the formal qualification." http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@....stems+Analysts

Thanks, JandM for your response. That's also what I thought. However, when I called Immigration contact centre, they told me it wouldn't affect my qualification points because the company would have considered my skills before offering the role to me. Would you advice that I get a detailed assessment of my JD? I don't want to self-assess as I might not be doing it right. I currently don't have experience in Systems/Test analysis but the company probably saw I could be successful in the role.
I have no problem with my current visa as I'm on a post study Open work visa.

    This is though.

I'm not allowed to advise you, not being an LIA. https://www.enz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=51538 and https://www.enz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24859

You need to check for yourself SM6.10 and SM6.15, to make a judgement. https://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/#66785.htm

For any open work visa you can switch company anytime you like.
its the SMC process that you gotto watch out for.
And any further workvisa you want to apply.

i think work experience can be counted if you lack the qualification.
