    Default Partner chances in NZ

    Good day everyone!😊😁

I would like to ask about the chances of my partner going here in NZ. According to the immigration site. ESWV low skilled cannot sponsor family and I only got 1 year work visa which is also low skilled. However, I have a sister here in NZ who can sponsor my partner. My questions are:

    1. Can my sister sponsor my partner going to NZ? If Yes, would that be ok even though I am currently working in NZ? Would it jeopardize my partners application?

    2. Could my partner apply on his own application if the sponsorship of my sister wont go through?

I hope someone could answer my questions. 🙏😊Thanks in advance😊

Your partner can't get a partner-sponsored work visa, as you have already realized - you're not entitled to support him for that because of the skill level of your work.

If your partner has a skill, he could apply for a work visa in his own right if he meets the requirements in the same way you have done yourself. https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...-visa#criteria

There is no VISA that your sister could support your partner for, but if he were applying for a student or visitor's visa, which requires evidence of being able to support oneself financially, she could sponsor him for his expenses. https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...-visa#criteria https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...table-sponsors

    1. I believe your sister are already a residence in NZ? if yes, she can only sponsor your partner as a visitor and the maximum he can stay in NZ is 9 months. Even though you already in NZ, it won't affect his application at all.

    2. Yes he can. To apply for a visitor visa, Generally, INZ will require financial evidence for about $1k/month to stay in NZ and he's not required to provide this if your sister can financially sponsor him. This is just the point that differ if you can get sponsorship from a NZ resident. Otherwise, as stated by JandM he can apply for his own ES visa in his own right.
