Varying the conditions of a work visa or new essential skills visa - HELP

Hey,

I'm in a bit of a tough situation and need some advice.
I handed in my notice and my last day of work is 26th April and was planning to go back to the UK. I fly out on the 29th April.
I have since been offered a new role.

The job has to be posted for them to do a market survey for my visa.
This has to be up for 2 weeks and was only posted yesterday 09/04/2019.
I was going to apply for a 'Variation on conditions of my Essential Skills work visa' as the job is the same but for a new company.
This only gives me a 1 day window to apply before my last day of work due to the easter holidays and Anzac day.
I'm not sure whether to apply for a whole new essential skills visa or do the variation?

Does anyone have any advice on what to do?

Hi MagicPizza, from my understanding it is dependent on the conditions listed on your visa. If your current company name is listed on your visa - "you can only work as ABCDE for X company". In your situation, same job but different company - You will be required to apply for a new essential skills visa.

Look at Option B here on the INZ website. https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...c-are-changing You need to liaise with INZ about this. It MAY be possible to do the necessary by a VOC.
