    I thought would be nice to share my experience.
    - Married to a permanent resident for 5 years, together for 10 years;
    - We lived together in NZ for 1 year and outside NZ for 3 years;
    - We submitted a good amount of detail (tenancy agreements, marriage certificate, insurances, online chats, letters from family, financial disclosure, trips together, pictures, two-page timeline)

    Application submitted: 11/01/2022
    More documentation (health): 23/05/2022
    More documentation (Evidence of financial interdependence, living together, and English requirement): 03/07/2022
    Visa approved: 11/07/2022

    Congratulations! And thanks for sharing your timeline.

    Could I just check whether that was a "Partner of a New Zealander Residence Visa"? I submitted mine on 6 May, haven't heard anything yet (though wouldn't expect to after less than 3 months), your timeline suggests a 4-5 month wait time before it is assigned to a CO, just wanted to check it's the same visa type.

    Our story was a little different as we applied from the UK.
    Married for 29yrs (all of that outside NZ)
    Applied March 2021
    Visa granted 51 weeks later - March 2022
    ALL of our hold ups were due to to problems in the UK under covid and the complete lack of administration as people were working from home.
    It took us 4 MONTHS to get a consultants report on a Chest CT scan and over 6 weeks to get a copy of a Decree Absolute.
    During all of this Immigration NZ were brilliant, cant fault them. We ended up having 3 case officers and 2 of them went above and beyond to help us out.

    Onwards and upwards and all that

    Hi, just wanted to add a timeline update for anyone waiting for this type of visa. We applied for Partner of a New Zealander Resident Visa (applied while living in UK, online application using an immigration advisor)

    6 May 22 - Application submitted
    21 Sep 22 - Assigned to CO

    There’s still the gathering of additional evidence, and the decision etc, (very nervous and hoping we get approved soon), but an important part of the waiting time is the queue to be assigned, so thought I’d post that here as it might help others who are waiting.
