    Default ITA May 2019

Just starting a thread to touch base with others with a similar timeline.

    EOI selected: April 3,2019
    ITA: April 4, 2019
    ITA submitted: May 7, 2019

    Now the long wait begins.

Latest update from INZ Manukau is that they were allocating applications lodged on 20 November to CO's today. So it's taking 171 days or 5 months & 20 days from lodgement to allocation. This is slooooow and nowhere near what the target timeframes.

But in good news, it's only taking 2 weeks for an application to get through the second person check process now (down from 4 weeks last month).

Thank you. I will keep positive that it will somehow be faster!

Just curious if you ever received a lodgment for your SMC?

Our ITA expiration is May 24. Do you know what happens if our application is not lodged before the 24th? Will it be declined?

You must have SUBMITTED your ITA by that date, or you will have lost your chance on this application. It may not have been notified to you as LODGED by then (because INZ's processes are running very slowly, and it can be a month after arrival in the INZ post room before the next action happens), but when an official gets to dealing with it, the lodgement date will be recorded as the date it first arrived with INZ.

Awesome - thank you! I got notice today that it was received and signed for in Auckland, so I will assume it is there in time. It was such an ordeal for us to get reference letters because they had to be mailed from the US, and while some folks said they would mail them “ASAP”, they didn’t! I’m glad to have the bulk of the application behind us. Now... we wait!

    Hello Guys,

Been following this forum for some time and finally my turn to apply for SMC! Will keep updating my timeline as it goes

Just noticed something. I was given only 4 months to compile my documents instead of 6 months? How many months are you guys given?

I think that 4 months is the standard from what I have read and my own personal experience.

Yes, four months is the time-limit for sending back the ITA and evidence, and has been all the time I've been taking an interest in INZ.
