Default Applying for a variation of travel conditions

    Hi

I am currently on a Resident Visa as my partner is a NZ citizen.
I've just realised that my "expiry date travel" is 09/mar/19 and I have already booked flights for overseas departing 19/jul/19.

Can anyone please give me any advice on what to do? Is my only option to apply for a variation of travel condition and just hope its approved in time?

I'm trying my best to contact immigration, however, the queue is huge and I've been waiting for a call back for over hour and half.

    Thanks

I think you could try and check if you are eligible for the permanent resident visa.

Most people would be eligible if they have spent majority of their time in NZ, so unless you've been overseas a lot it should be a lot easier than getting a variation of conditions.

Otherwise your only other option would probably be the variation of travel condition.

Based on the processing time on INZ website you should be able to get your variation of condition approved in time if you decided to apply.

Just be careful though since you can only extend your travel conditions for a limited amount of time...
