Yes, I too received same generic email first stating that "As the holder of a resident visa, you are eligible to enter New Zealand. Restrictions apply". I was very delighted that finally the wait is over and they just have to approve in principle. Later that I received another e-mail stating "email was sent to you in error and you have not been granted a resident visa". This is such a real disappointment.

We do not know where is the queue positioned for offshore applicants now and how long they take to clear the backlog for offshore.

My offshore application lodgement date is 07 December, 2018. Till now I have not received any email. God knows what is the future...

God knows what will happen about the pandemic, and how different governments cope with managing travel because of it - that is mainly what has been delaying movement on that kind of visa till now.

Yes, but what the NZ government decides to do is bound to be affected by conditions in other countries. As an example, in the UK, because our government didn't act to close the borders at the beginning of the pandemic, meaning we had a high rate of spread of infection, other countries reacted by refusing to accept travellers from the UK. And the availability of vaccination (and the uptake of it by the public) varies in different countries, meaning that some will be considered a higher risk and still unacceptable for that reason.

So did any offshore applicant whose lodgment date is around December, 2018 got their CO assigned?
