Default How do you know when someone has been assigned to your case?

Quick question. Awaiting my partnership work visa to be processed, and on these forums I'll often see timelines of people posting when an officer has been assigned to their case, etc. Will you receive an email when someone has been assigned to your case, or when it's being processed? Just curious how that all works and what the process/timeline is?

Mine is still in the queue it seems, even though I'm now on month 3 .

    Cheers,

They don't always introduce themselves, my partner's CO only contacted us when his work visa was approved. Not a day earlier.

You will get an e-mail from the Case officer if they need more documents from you and thats when you come to know. There are few cases as you could see in other posts where you may not be notified and get your visa approved eventually.

Most of the time your case officer will email you for sure as they might need some documents due to the long wait time in the queue.

Not all COs routinely announce themselves, so many applicants only find out that they have a CO if s/he contacts them for information, or if the helpline people mention the fact if they call with a query.

Okay, thanks everyone! So hopefully I'll take it that no news is good news. I feel our application had a lot of evidence, and our relationship is definitely genuine, so hopefully no issues. Just a stressful period!
