Default Claiming bonus points for working in area of absolute skill shortage

    Hi all,
I am about to apply for my EOI but I have two questions. First, regarding claiming bonus points for working in area of absolute skill shortage.
I am working as Technical Support Specialist (ANZSCO CODE:313112), this is listed in LTSSL.
As per INZ operational manual https://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/#66793.htm point(c) they are suitably qualified by training and/or experience to undertake the employment or offer of employment (including any specific requirements set out on the Long Term Skill Shortage List or that were listed on the date their Expression of Interest was selected). Does this mean that I need to have at least 3 years of work experience to claim for this bonus points? Or can I just claim it as it is already there on LTSSL and I have the required qualification to take up this job?

Second question I have is regarding claiming bonus points for skilled work experience in area area of absolute skill shortage. I currently have 2 and half year of work experience as ICT customer support officer in NZ, can I claim bonus point for these 2 years? Or I can't as I haven't completed minimum of 3 years of experience post qualification as outlined in LTSSL for ICT Customer Support Officer?

Any help on the above two question will be appreciated.
This forum has helped millions for all the silly/little questions one may have regarding their application. I would like to thank each and everyone and specially @Chis and @JandM.

Sorry to confirm what it looks as though you've already been suspecting...

Does this mean that I need to have at least 3 years of work experience to claim for this bonus points?
Yes. Looking here https://skillshortages.immigration.g...upport-officer and clicking on the LTSSL box to see the requirements, it shows that the applicant must have one of the qualifications mentioned, AND (and notice that they have written 'and' and capitalized it) a minimum of three years' relevant post-qualification work experience.

And, about claiming for work experience in an AASS, SM7.30 b iii https://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/#66803.htm says this.
Work experience is assessed as being in an area of absolute skills shortage if:

...the principal applicant is suitably qualified by training and/or experience to undertake that work.
So yes, as you need three years' post-qualification work experience along with your qualification to entitle you to the bonus points for work in an AASS, it's only work experience IN ADDITION TO those three years that can be counted for bonus points for skilled work experience in an AASS.

Thank you so much JandM. This makes it clear to me that I will have to wait for another 6 months to be eligible for applying.
