I know of a vlogger / RN who got her residency in 6 months. Not aged care nurse, but working for a DHB in Auckland. Not sure why it lasted that “long” for her.
Greetings to everybody!
I am a Chinese living in China mainland without NZ job offer. In June I submitted EOI, here is my timeline:
EOI selection/ITA received: 29/06/19
ITA documents sent off: 09/09/19
ITA lodged: 21/09/19
Payment deducted: 24/09/19
No further communication from INZ
Hello and welcome.
Hey team,
I'm not really finished maternity leave, but there is so much crazy stuff going on with INZ recently that I just had to lurk on this forum and see what the word is amongst you all. I've also been in contact with INZ for the past few weeks, trying to make sense of what on earth they think they are doing with their messed-up processing! The front of the SMC allocation queue is currently 11 December and the Immigration Manager I contacted last week confirmed that the priority allocation criteria of:
1. Employment with an Accredited Employer or
2. Minimum hourly rate of $50 or $104,000 per annum or
3. Applicants in an occupation that requires occupational registration by law and the applicant holds current registration
is still in operation.
Another Immigration Manager also (arrogantly) told me that the wait times are likely to get longer into 2020. It seems they are doing absolutely nothing to try and speed the process up!
Welcome (sort of) back, Erin.
Hang on a second, this one's new isn't it? I know they had government employees but accredited changes things. I know you know the difference but we're they sure it was accredited employers?
My company got accredited after I applied in preparation for next year's changes so might try my luck at an escalation again as we already asked on these grounds and got shot doen. Emma can only say no again and they never say you can only ask for it once 😁
Yes, that one came up for the first time in an email to one of the Immigration Manager's on 14 October (sorry, I was in the thick of the newborn daze at that point and not in a position to post on here). Absolutely give it another shot and feel free to state that Immigration Manager Daniel Strong confirmed that accredited employers was a criteria for prioritisation via email to me on 14 October (if they don't want to stand by their word, then they shouldn't write it in an email!).
My partner is employed with an accredited employer but she's not the principal applicant. Wonder if this would help escalation as well.
My employer unfortunately isn't accredited.
And I thought I read somewhere that you can only request for escalation one time and that that decision is final.

We did it anyway, They said the following in our response to the first try:
I don't view applying for an escalation under a new set of rules as requesting justification or communication about the same request, but an entirely new request as it is for different criteria that they have since created. If they ignore me they ignore me but it's worth the punt if it means we actually get looked at.We appreciate your understanding that not all requests can be granted. Please note that INZ will not be responding to further communication regarding this request and the justification of our decision.
