    Hi,
I need a suggestion on extra medical info requested for my mom .we have applied visitor visa under parent category.we have submitted emedical thro panel clinic while she was in Vietnam for a visit .now she is back to India ,there’s no panel clinic nearby ..when I called inz customer care ,they have told that the extra health information can be done thro the normal qualified Doctors and sent to inzhelp@mbie.govt.nz
Can anyone advise if you have similar experience please.also if there’s a link which states that ?

I don't know of anything in INZ regulations which specifically states that, but I know, from seeing other people's experiences reported on the forum these many years, that what you have been told is perfectly correct.

It is for the original medical itself that INZ require one of their panel doctors to be used.

After that, if the medical has something outside the normal ranges somewhere and is referred to a Medical Assessor (whose responsibility it is to understand the applicant's state of health, to make sure there will be no danger to the NZ population, and/or great expense to the NZ Health Service), and that MA requires more medical tests of some kind, and/or a doctor's or specialist's opinion on some aspect of her state, the applicant must choose the relevant sort of doctor. This doctor may be their own GP, who knows them best and can comment on their day-to-day health, another local doctor, or a specialist in some particular condition.

have you received a specific request from INZ for further information? If it says a specialist report then that will need to come from someone competent in the particular field.
If its more general information, such as repeat blood tests etc, then that can come from your own doctor through a competent lab.

Hello! I am hoping this is an appropriate thread to ask this. I also have received an email from eMedical requesting additional medical information. I have reached out to my panel physician, as per the email, to find out what additional information is needed and they insist I need to book another appointment to see the doctor at $300. I dot not believe this is necessary when I am simply seeking information on what is needed. My application currently does not have a case worker assigned to it according to my online application. Does anyone know if I can email inzhealth@mbie.govt.nz in order to obtain the information that INZ is seeking? I have been trying for a week to get this information from my panel doctor with no luck.

    Thank you!

This sounds strange. I have never seen on the threads that anyone was told of a requirement for more medical information, without the communication saying WHAT more medical information, e.g. 'an up-to-date report from a cardiologist', or 'a set of (whatever) blood tests', or 'a doctor's opinion on the prognosis for your (whatever)'. The request is normally triggered by the doctor at the medical having noted some feature as not 'normal', or one of the tests having come back with a result (even slightly) outside the normal range. The eMedicals are scanned in the first place by computer, which flags any medical for 'not normal' to be checked by a human. In the first instance, if the human sees that the offending result is something insignificant, like 0.001 outside the normal band, it will be passed. If it is something not immediately explicable like that, the medical will be referred to an MA (medical assessor), as mentioned above.

As mentioned in my post#2 above, panel doctors are normally only used for carrying out the original medical. It is normal that the applicant goes to a different doctor of whatever kind is appropriate to provide the further opinion/test/report required (unless it happens that their own regular doctor also happens to be a panel doctor for INZ). Unfortunately, INZ medical matters are private medical consultations, for which people are charged for the doctor's time, so I guess if you see any doctor about this, the panel doctor or another, you will be billed for it.

Thinking as I'm typing here... unless the eMedical email was telling you that some information was missing from your medical, which should have been supplied at the same time...???

Here's an old thread https://www.enz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=49836 as an example of what normally happens.

Does anyone else have any inspiration to share on this matter?

Thank you for the added info, JandM

I am now slightly concerned because I was certainly not provided with WHAT information I need to resubmit or provide. Below is a portion of the email I received from eMedical. I've not received an email or notification in my INZ account that my application has even moved on from "submitted". So this feels very off to me. The receptionist at the Panel Doctors office have said they'd show my email to the Dr., but only he can comment on what additional information is required. I'd be happy to pay for what ever services are additional but paying to find out WHAT is needed doesn't seem right to me.

    From eMedical
INZ needs some more health information from you
You have had a health examination as a requirement for your New Zealand visa application. Immigration New Zealand (INZ) now needs some extra health information to complete our assessment.

How to provide your extra health information

Please contact an INZ panel physician to find out:

what extra information we need; and
where you should go to get this extra information (You may not need to attend your panel physician again. Some tests can be performed by panel physicians, some cannot).[/I][/I][/I]

Here https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...nation-results is an INZ page about the medicals, and I notice
    How to get your results

To get a copy of your results you can ask the physician when you have your examination, or any time afterwards.

    ...

Once we receive your results you can also contact us if you want a copy of them.
Have you had a copy of your results from the panel doctor? It seems you're entitled, as part of the original booking. Or INZ can give you a copy. I'm thinking, that ought to show what has been flagged as abnormal.

However, I've still got vague suspicions about all this. That email really IS from eMedical, is it? - not some other email address? If it doesn't ask you to click on a link and give details, I can't quite see how a scam could work, but it's odd...

In your place, I think I would phone INZ and tell/ask them about all this.

I have asked the panel doctor for a copy of my report. No reply as of this morning.

the email address the eMedical email is from is noreply@homeaffairs.gov.au

It has my New Zealand eMedical reference number and Immigration New Zealand Health Case Reference number included in the email. The eMedical reference number is correct, it is what is uploaded into my visa application. The only link it to see a list of panel doctors, which I haven't clicked on because I've already seen one. I am baffled. I guess I will wait a day or two for the dr to get back to me then call INZ,
