Post Partnership Resident Visa - Medical Issue

    Hi

I am just wondering if anyone here has applied/seen a case for Partner of New Zealander(Citizen) Resident Visa approved with a complex medical issue?

I am Hard of hearing and have applied for Partnership Resident Visa. Currently based on my understanding from Medical Ops manual - I do not meet the health standard which means I may go to the extend of requesting medical waiver. I am wondering what are the documents I need to prepare if it reaches that far. I have already got a letter from my audiologist and ENT specialist from my country of origin that I am wearing hearing aids for last 10+ years and they do not recommend Cochlear Implant. (Personally I would never even go for Cochlear Implant ever..)

I am currently on Employer Assisted visa after completing my Bachelor's degree working full time without any issue for last 2 years.

    Any advise ?

It looks as though you already have the right kind of paperwork for when your medical is referred, though the MA may ask for more recent comments.

Many people send their medical evidence to INZ (quoting the eMedical number along with their personal details, what visa, date of application, etc.), so it can be sent to the MA along with the medical, pre-empting the MA's request for this information, and thus speeding things up (a little).

    Hi JandM
Thank you for your reply. Yes I got this letter from my audiologist from my country of origin and submitted to immigration NZ.
Although CO has not yet been assigned, I thought it would be best if I send it in before my file reaches MA and things move quicker. As far as E medical is concerned it was able to carry on. Medical I did for my last work visa application was still allowed to be used as the current one.
So I guess I will just have to wait till MA ask for any more further details that I can go back and ask my Specialist.

    Thanks JandM

    Hello Tich,

Yes, my application was successful. Took some time and more details but ended up being easy. I am now a Permanent Resident in NZ.

Feel free to contact me or message me if you need any help.

    Cheers,

Yes, Tich, don't worry too much. There are plenty of precedents for a deaf person getting their medical waiver.

I actually didn't need to apply for medical waiver.
