Same as JHadders. Work place not good. Been holding on to get the residence visa sorted. And if it doesn't come through for some reason, plan is to move to Canada. Too tired of this work to visa and visa to work cycle.

For more than four years on all kind of visas and finally hubby got occupational registration job and applied for SMC dreaming that just months away from NZ residency so we can bring our son for once and all to NZ from Home country......Naah too much of dreaming and now living with reality that don’t know if INZ will process SMC applications or not and still how long I have to wait to see my son again due to border closure 😔 really depressed in life imagine pain of a mother away from child for last 4 years.
I've applied for a new ESV on the 7th and today I got an email from from Immigration requesting a police certificate (followed by another email saying that it was their mistake and that the police certificate provided with the Residency application was still OK).
It seems that someone is working in there, at least for checking that the documents submitted are OK.
Not in my case either - I sent through all the same documents again as i had for SMC (Passport/CV/Medicals/English test etc). I had to get my employer to re-sign the employment form, as it has been updated since my SMC application, and got updated bank statements & payslips. Also updated partnership proof (photos/updated proof of address showing we live together).
Was accepted and approved in about a week (at the beginning of March).
I had to supply a new medical with the bridging esv application as it’s been over 36 months since I had the last one.. 😣
This is annoying as we have until January on my current visa and will need to get the bridging application in before October.
We are seriously considering saying screw it and heading back to the UK around then if there's no movement. The covid stuff may be the deal breaker though, might be no point going back if they are still wrestling with it then, at least the $1000 for extra visas here I'll still have a job to live off until it blows over. We are just done with the residency situation, it's causing us no end of stress and although I now find we don't even care what their decision is I just want them to make one and get it over and done with so we can get on with our lives here or in the UK. If they offered us a refund we would seriously be considering taking it.
I can’t blame you, I’ve had this thought plenty of times myself.. the uncertainty is what gets to me most and it’s not just my partner and myself but we have a 2 year old son to consider as well. When we applied 90% was processed in 9 months and now it’s 17 months (hasn’t been updated since March so will very likely increase).. I don’t understand how a government agency can just change processing times as they please and I doubt we would have applied if we had known how long it takes. And now we had to spend another $1700 for two work visas, visitor visa and medical which is a significant amount of money.. at least we both still have our jobs and there have been no changes.. I’m just over it 😣
