Default Parent of NZ citizen - can she get PR?

Hi, a friend of mine is married to a kiwi guy and they have been living in Japan.
After 20 years of marriage, my friend has decided she wants a divorce.
They have 3 children and they will probably share custody if she cannot get all three children.

    Here's a question.
If she wants to come to NZ with her children (who are NZ citizens by born) as she thinks NZ education is better for her kids, can she apply for PR under some sort of special family category?
I advised her to apply for PR under partnership with her kiwi husband but she says she doesn't wanna spend a day longer with her husband...

here's all the family visa options.

I don't think it's an option for her as the only way kids can sponsor their parents is if they're adults and earning over $200K a year.

She would likely have to apply for a visitor visa and go from there.

Only the Parent Resident Visa and Parent Retirement Resident Visa exist for the purpose of getting residence via children, and these will not be options if the children are still dependent on her.

If your friend is unable or unwilling to get a Resident Visa through her partner, she would need to investigate getting a Resident Visa in her own right (e.g. SMC).

    Thank you MagicPizza and Kelerei!
I told her what you guys said. I think she will just stay in Japan.
