Claiming points from experience
Greetings,
I have a small question and I was hoping someone can help me. I am going to apply for the skilled migrant category as a secondary school teacher, however my 5 years of experience teaching were adquired before my qualifications as a teacher.
The webpage says "You need to show that you had the relevant qualification before you started that work experience". Does that mean I am going to lose all those points? Can I get any point for teaching for 5 years even though it was not after getting my qualifications?
Thank you very much

Here is the actual regulation. SM7.10.1 b. https://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/#66799.htm You won't get the points for skilled work experience as a teacher if it came before your teaching qualification, UNLESS (see SM7.10.15) you had some other previous job in which you used the same skills.
