Clarification of Metal Machinist 1st class

Hi guys, one of my friend is working as a cnc laser cutting operator in a steel company. Laser cutting operator is similar to Metal Machinist 1st class for skilled visa?

Your friend will need to find the ANZSCO occupation that's a "substantial match", not merely "similar", to what he's doing.
