    Resident to Permanent Residence Timeline.

    Application Courier : 1 July 2021
    Paymeny Deducted : 13 July 2021
    Passport Returned : 14 July 2021
    Immigration Officer Allocated : 20 July 2021
Request to submit additional document: 20 July 2021
    Document emailed : 20 July 2021

    Since then nothing happened.

Contacted few times, getting same reply that they are waiting for my NZ police clearance.

They said it is taking about 6 weeks to get a NZ Police clearance.

In regards to the additinal document, they have asked me to submit by visa Refusal letter from one of the country which I always declared to them. I am
not sure why they need this time.

Any thoughts why it is taking too long

"Too long" is how it feels to you, which is understandable, but don't forget that everyone feels like this when they're waiting for INZ to deal with their affairs. For every applicant, it takes as long as it takes, and any timing told you by INZ, whether individually by a CO or telephone answerer, or on their website, is only ever a best guess based on how things have been going, but they can't read the future, so it's never a promise.

Your CO will have an allocation of many cases that he works in a rotating queue (see the first part of this reply https://www.enz.org/forum/showthread...720#post582720 in case you haven't seen this mentioned before), so often some time passes before you get a reaction to any piece of evidence you send in.

INZ has no control over the issuing of NZ police clearances - they just have to wait once the request has gone in.

About the requirement to see the visa refusal letter. This is probably because the CO dealing with your case THIS time has not seen the evidence on this matter, and wants to check it out for her/himself since s/he has responsibility for all aspects this time round and is covering her/himself.

2PC : Don't know the exact date but has happened recently I think just before the lockdown.

Has been advised by the Phone answerer that nothing is going to happen with my application until they are allowed to go back to the office as my application is paper based.

@Ivish, Any luck with your application mate? I think if it was in 2PC check queue before the lockdown started then there is a possibility of getting ours approved. Unfortunately mine was still waiting for CO when the lockdown started. So I guess wait for another "dont know how many weeks" time!!

I contacted INZ contact centre and I was told that my application was in Palmerston North queue waiting to be allocated to CO. All this time, I was thinking it was in Auckland and in queue coz of Level 3 there. but why in a queue for such a long time in Palmerston North as its level 2 here. Anyone know if paper based applications will be handled under Level 2?
