Default Is police clearance certificate required for RV to PRV application?

    Hi all,

One of the friends is applying to convert RV to PRV now.

The principal applicant had been outside NZ for about 2 years after the first entry to NZ.

Now he has been in NZ for 2 years continuously, and all conditions ( 184 days etc.) have met and is going to apply for PRV.

Like to know if police certificate is required from the country where he lived after the first entry in to NZ.
He has no traffic offences etc in NZ.

In the PRV form, there is nothing that relates to PCC. Hope PRV just a straight forward application.

Would like to hear your opinion.

    Thanks a lot.

The wording of A5.5(b) is as follows (emphasis my own): "Applicants for a further residence class visa under RV2 or RV4 will not usually need to submit a police or similar certificate, unless specifically asked to by an immigration officer."

RV2 is the set of immigration instructions relating to a Resident Visa holder applying to a Permanent Resident Visa.

    This definitely answers your question.
