    Default IQA Questions

Hi everyone, I am in the process of applying for IQA, is there any relation between the IQA and the ability to claim points for skilled employment, I am not sure if I should get that Add-On for Skill Shortage Assessment.

    Thanks in advance!

There can be, particularly if you intend to claim points for being on a skills shortage list.

This flowchart from NZQA can advise you as to whether or not you'll need the Skill Shortage Assessment Add-On.

Hi Kelerei, thanks, so if I got it right I would only need this Add-On if I want to claim points for "Working in an area of absolute skill shortage" ? But if I don't get this addon I would still be able to claim points for working in "Skilled Employment"

    Is this correct?

    Thanks!

    SM6.10 Skilled Employment

Skilled employment is employment that meets a minimum remuneration threshold and requires specialist, technical or management expertise obtained through:
the completion of recognised relevant qualifications; or
    relevant work experience; or
the completion of recognised relevant qualifications and/or work experience.
    (my bolding)

So, depending on what your qualification is, you MAY need to get the IQA done in order that INZ will recognize it as proving that you are qualified to do your job. See also SM6.10.20 a i at that same link.

An IQA is not limited to claiming points for working in an area of absolute skill shortage. In any situation where you are claiming points where your foreign qualifications are involved, you may need an IQA. This may include, but is not limited to: claiming points for a recognised qualification (SM8), claiming points for skilled employment or an offer thereof where qualifications are relevant to employment (SM6.10.20 and SM6.15), and claiming bonus points for employment in an area of absolute skills shortage (SM6.40).

If you are unsure whether or not you require an IQA for your application, you should ask INZ directly or seek professional immigration advice. This forum is unable to advise on matters related to immigration, such as what you require to be assessed or immigration points you can obtain.

If you do require an IQA, then refer to the NZQA flowchart I posted earlier to ascertain what you need to ask the NZQA for.

Hello everyone! I hope someone could help me with my queries please. My question is regarding IQA process.

    1. Do I need to include my secondary school or just the tertiary?

    2. The translation of english? There are only 2 subject that is in our native language. Is the translation mandatory? Also, do I need to send the original document? Or a scanned copy or photocopy will do?

    3. Lastly, what does evidence of apprenticeship means?

    Thank you so much.
