    Default My citizenship timeline

    Hi All,

This forum helped me a lot. Thanks for all the effort people put in to write about their application process.
I like to share my citizenship timeline here in case it helps anyone understand the current timeline.

I emailed DIA on 2nd September and booked appointment for 1st December for both me and my wife.
We submitted our application on 1st December, their system had some issue hence they didn't entered our application in system till 3rd December. We received a 3rd December dated letter about my submission of application. Got few emails from case officer about few questions.
We received 23rd December dated letter that its approved, now waiting for citizenship ceremony.

    Application submitted: 1st December
    Approved : 23rd December
    Citizenship ceremony: ?

    Thanks 😊

These are hosted by your local authority. In your case, this appears to be Auckland: here's the information that the Auckland Council has published.

Citizenship ceremonies resumed in Auckland in December 2020 (except Papakura), and other regions are expected to resume in early 2021.

Citizenship Ceremonies will be starting from March.
My Citizenship was approved on 02nd December and now waiting for Citizenship ceremony invitation letter, I am expecting it in the first week of February.

Once you are approved for Citizenship, your ceremony will take place within 3 to 5 months.

They process in-person applications sooner than online applications, which is shameful as it costs the same. The call centre also tries to push for online applications saying there is no difference.

Where does this information come from? Can you show a source?

    Good Morning,

I have applied for my citizenship on 7 January, in person at one of their counter offices in Auckland.

I have not received any acknowledgement yet. Neither Post nor email.

    Any Idea?

Did you check with your case officer?

I guess in case in person appointments, the case officer will provide you with acknowledgment of your application once the payment and application is accepted for processing.

I received an application/payment receipt via email from the person who accepted my application at the counter but no acceptance/acknowledgement email/mail yet.
