Sorry for not reacting sooner, been away a couple of days.
Yes, I can see that is a good reason, but, as Kelerei remarks, I would have thought it is more of an exception. But- fair enough.
hi guys anyone has submitted citizenship application in christchurch,
can you please give and update
mine was submitted in christchurch on 17 feb 2021
Not me but a member of forum Geekzone just shared his timeline:
Woohoo sharing my citizenship timeline:

Got email from CO confirm details 17 september
Got email approved 23 september
Waiting for my ceremoney

So somehow his application is given priority? Apparently the queue is sitting at Oct/Nov 2020 at best.
That seems so unfair. I applied in January 2021, in person & still waiting.
Here are my timelines
04 November 2020 - Applied Online
21 September 2021 - Received email confirming details.
28 September 2021 - Approval email received.
Citizenship approval delays expected to ease mid-2022...

Mid-2022... unbelievable
Citizenship application is much easier to process compared to residency. Basically day count check + character. English is proven if lodged in person, otherwise very easy to process as well. Employment, income or acceptable standard of health are not part of the requirements.
According to @cmsrana looks like the ordinary queue is now early Nov 2020.
More than 30,000 people are waiting for their citizenship to be approved after a blowout in processing times.
Read this story on RNZ Facebook and appalled how uninformed the average NZers are:

Many can't even tell the differences between residency and citizenship.
Many think it is to do with Immigration NZ.
And many keep screaming the old cliche "They take our houses and they take our jobs"
