Anyone who applied in Jan/Feb 2021 has any updates?

I applied in person in early/mid Feb 2021 and have absolutely no updates. No acknowledgement, no email, no letter. I have nothing to relate to my application. The contact centre basically just answered 7-12 months for every question asked.

An official information request on FYI by a resident named Jeannette shows the number of applications received to be quite consistent at around 35,000 a year. However, the number of approvals have become much slower gradually.

2018: 32,288 approvals, 27 working days on average to process.

2019: 31,717 approvals, 38 working days on average to process.

2020: 20,492 approvals, 90 working days on average to process.

Jan-2021: only 819 approvals, 127 working days on average to process.

Not sure what’s going on at the moment.

I’m in the same boat. Applied 7 Jan 2021, in person. No communication from the office so far.

How they calculated 2021 data? It’s hardly 67 days so far into the new year! How come they said 127 days of processing time?

    The information is from here:

    https://fyi.org.nz/request/14497-inf...ion-timeframes

I guess that 819 approvals in Jan 2021 is for applications lodged way back in July 2020. For applications lodged in Jan/Feb 2021 we don’t even know what’s happening at the moment.

So if we calculate using the mid value (15/01/2021)
=> add back 127 working days
=> approximately 184 calendar days, skipping all public holidays, Saturdays and Sundays
=> guessing the queue is currently at 15 July 2020.

But after reading a few related posts here it looks like there are applicants who applied in Dec 2020 / Jan 2021 and already got approved by now.

As with INZ processing, every case is individual. What happens to one case can't be a precedent for others, which will each have their own evidence to be checked out.

2 of my friends applied via online last 27-July-2020, and up until now they haven't heard from anyone yet. One did follow up last 24-Jan thru email, and found out that his application has not yet been assigned to a CO. They also said that it takes 5 to 7 months for the assignment to a CO and most applicants would now the outcome within 7-12 months from submitting a complete and correct application.

I submitted my application via online too, last 20-Oct-2020. And did an enquiry last 18-Feb via email too. I got the same response.
