Anyone applied for PR & also requested for a Visa sticker?
Just curious to know if you get charged for visa sticker right away or they only charge it when/if you get approved?

I did this myself in May 2021, and if I recall correctly, I was charged for the Permanent Resident Visa application and 2 visa stickers all at the same time.

Sent in my application early Feb, have yet to have payment/etc deducted....it's a shame it'll be up to 6 months. I was hoping to visit my family in June, but it's probably not likely that will happen. A little ridiculous that I'm stuck in the country for the next six months...wasn't the PR processing time normally a few weeks pre-covid?

Hello adamvk, Have you received any sort of communications from INZ until now ? something like application has been lodged or anything ? I just applied for my PR day before and wondering when I would get my passport back as I am in similar position as yours wanting to travel out early May/June. I am thinking if they return our passports back, we can still travel out while INZ processes the PR visa.

Ahhh ! Thank you for your feedback. Based on what I have read, one can send certified copies of passport also, but INZ form states that original passports are recommended. All the best and pls do let me know if you hear anything from them. I will keep you updated as well if anything moves at my end. Thanks

Yea. It's a tricky one . The moment I realised that I have not submitted the passport , I wrote letter acknowledging that I've forgotten my passport and went to put my passport with the letter in the drop box .

Right after I did I called immigration right away advising them what I have done and the person I spoke to said she has sent out an email to the team and they will look into it & I was asked to describe the colour of the package .

Been on hold for the last 40 minutes....not even the right department as the residency department wouldn't even let me be on hold, just kept hanging up. Think I might just send my passport in with a letter and hope for the best....
