Latest Citizenship Timeline - adults only

One would think queue means first in first serve. But it appears from the statistics given, it is not always the case.

I would like to share my timeline as this thread was my 'go to', when I needed a peace of mind or an update on the timeline processing.

Submitted online application early January-21, assigned to an officer early November-21, and became a citizen late November-21, received the certificate early December-21 Yaay.

Applied Online from Auckland on 16 Jan 2021.

First contact to verify Personal Details on 22 Nov 2021.

Approved today 6 Dec 2021.

waiting for Certificate now.

Could you please advise what is the title of the first contact email?
I applied online on 25/1/2021 but there is no contact email yet.

For me, it was "New Zealand citizenship - additional information required" followed by the application reference.

They tried calling me first but I missed their call, the call appeared from a private number.

I do an extrapolation based on the two backlog snapshots provided by the department - for paper applications only.

At the processing speed of 38 applications a day, it's expected that all paper applications lodged in January 2021 will be completed by Xmas. Some Feb 2021 will be allocated too, but some will have to wait until 10 Jan 2022.

I haven't taken into account:
* They hired more staff (jobs listed on DIA career website and SJS) - not sure if they got any
* Some might take longer holiday than the standard 25 Dec - 09 Jan

Lots of January applicants getting approvals! Congratulations!!

Funny story: my friend applied in February, and just got allocated a CO. His first contact was a request for a new photo, because the one he submitted was more than 6 months old. Well, duh! It's about 10 months old!

hi guys, I have a question. How long will Case Officer (CO) first make contact via email/phone after the application is allocated?

I have called DIA last Friday and they said that my application has been assigned to CO however I haven't received any email from CO to confirm my details.
I phoned DIA today they told me the same thing that my application has been allocated but it's up to CO whether they want to contact you or not.
