Even the passport application I have read one of the threads here, it will take some time unless you want to pay extra bucks for rush.
Mine still has a looong way to go as I only submitted mid-Feb this year but I'm anxious to see the backlog getting cleared, certainly don't want to wait 16-17 months to get my hands on the black passport like your case.

I am guessing it will change the way they process comes mid this year as per their website but no idea how DiA officers would do that. Hoping in the future that it would be normal like before, 3months or less including the ceremony.

Yes it really looks like it depends on the case officer work load as one of my mates who got approval email on 8th April 22 got an email next week that their certificates would be printed on 21st April and he had applied on July 21 while I had applied last year April 21.

Our citizenship approved on 11/04,we applied on 04/04, CO emailed and asked to confirm our details on 08/04 and on the next working day (since CO emailed on friday) we got approval email and saying our citizenship certificate will be couriered within 2 months.
So, I guess the timeline for getting citizenship certificate is bit inconsistent, some gets quickly and most of them have to wait a bit.

Interesting!! I know a friend who applied in April 2021 still hasn't heard anything. But maybe his application is not complete (his birth cert is not in english but he doesn't provide a certified translated version for it) so it could be the reason for the delay. However, it could be due to the workload of his CO.
Congrats! You can start counting down to a celebration now

Mostly receiving emails informing the date when will the certificate will be printed. Are we receiving courier's reference number from DiA sending your certificate???

Pure speculation, but I had wondered whether the complexity (languages, original country, criminal records, etc) were the cause for some cases taking a long time, whilst others being very fast to process. Perhaps a certain CO (maybe a junior) is only processing the simple cases, so is plowing through them.

As I say, pure speculation and probably nonsense. It'd be interesting to know why there's such a disparity though (some being approved from late July whilst others from April are still waiting). Why wouldn't CO offload work to balance it out?

    Hi
Anyone applied paper application on May and received any contact? It will be good to know if they started processing paper applications submitted on May last year
