    Actually they had a decrease of 73 applications from Nov to Dec 2021 and we were so hopeful that the trend would be downward in the new year but that wasn't the case. The backlog kept getting bigger and bigger. I have learned that people applied in March 2021 haven't heard anything on their applications. It means that their applications got allocated but not sure they are being looked at by their CO. I suspect that some COs would be more active than others while some would just take their sweet time. To be frank, NZ is fearing that there might be a brain drain so there's no pressure from the policy-makers that DIA have to pick up their speed

    Finally it is our time to do dancing bananas!!
    We received our citizenship approval emails today

    We did EOI in May 2015 and after 7 years, we are going to be citizens!! Many thanks for everyone in this forum for all the useful information. We applied the citizenship at exactly 4 years and 240 days! I was worried that my Excel calculation could be wrong!

    Anyway, please let us know if you know the next certificate printing date will be! Cheers, good luck everyone

    Congrats! Not every day you see someone applied less than a year have their applications approved!!!

    Haven't got any details on when the certificate will be printed. The approval email just mentioned that it will be posted in the next 2 months! Anyway, not planning to travel to avoid missing the certificates, there is mail theft in my neighbourhood :-( It is time to have a nice hair cut before taking the passport photos
