I am using my phone. Will try to use a computer and see if it shows anything different.

Regarding your presence requirement, did it at some point state you meet the requirement after your application? Or just throughout the entire time it states you do not meet the presence requirement? Have made an application but the calculator keeps stating I am not eligible. I confirmed with DIA after submitting documents through email that I have fulfilled the presence requirement, as for the calculator they have no answer, which feels really feels annoying as this means my application cannot be fast tracked. I wanted to take it further but I don't know how.
    Hi Raleigh119,

The online calculator all throughout says I do not meet the presence requirement. I just calculated manually.
    14 Oct 2017 to 13 Oct 2018 - 240 days (from 14 Feb 2018 residence visa)
    14 Oct 2018 to 13 Oct 2019 - 365 days
    14 Oct 2019 to 13 Oct 2020 - 365 days
    14 Oct 2020 to 13 Oct 2021 - 365 days
    14 Oct 2021 to 13 Oct 2022 - 365 days
    Total days = 1,700 days

Accdg. to the website, to meet this requirement, you need to have been in New Zealand for:

    - at least 240 days in each 12-month period, and
    - 1,350 days across the 5 years.

    Link - https://www.govt.nz/browse/passports...-requirements/

I did not travel overseas for the last 5 years.
    Hope this helps.
    Good luck.

Thank you for your post, it gives me a lot of reassurance. We have almost the exact scenario, except I got my residency about a month earlier and I have a two week outside NZ travel on Nov 2018. The presence calculator keeps stating I don't meet the requirement.

Presence requirements works from the day you apply going backward to 5 years. Here is what I calculated for you.

    10 Dec 22...........10 Dec 21
    10 Dec 21...........10 Dec 20
    10 Dec 20...........10 Dec 19
    10 Dec 19...........10 Dec 18
    10 Dec 18 ..........10 Dec 17
    (From 14th Feb 2018 till 10 Dec 2018) 14+31+30+31+30+31+31+30+31+30+10= 298 days

So your presence requirement is definitely met. If online calculator still shows "not met" you better wait few more weeks (if you haven't applied already) because your application for citizenship will go through manual checks which will take lot more time.

Hey do you usually receive the email to let you know your case was assigned to case officer? I called them 10 days ago and they said the officer was working on it. I didn't receive any communication at all. I would not know if i didn't call. What would am I expecting next?

In practice, people very often don't get told their case has been assigned.

Now, there will be more waiting, until the official has something to ask you or tell you.

    Hi Jessica201,
After submission, I did not received any email nor did I call DIA office to get an update. I just sat there and patiently waited. I only received the email informing about the approval and telling me to wait for the ceremonies team within 1-4 months on date and venue of the ceremony. Hope this helps.

This was the same situation for me. I applied and about 5 weeks later was approved. 2 weeks after that I was assigned a ceremony which was 4 weeks away.
