I'm in Tauranga - strange that we would have better contact information than the big smoke! Our council's website didn't have the details of the meetings but it did have the email address for someone local involved in ceremony scheduling and she got back to me rather quickly.

Is it better to apply online or in person?

Do you have any advice related to the automatic checks?

Thanks in advance for your advice.
I believe online is 100% the way to go - I think that's how the automatic checks get applied. Re: extra tips - definitely make sure the online presence tests says you are eligible before you submit your application.

Pray that you have the same personal circumstances because that seems to make the difference in how quickly an application is processed.

I got approved on last Thursday i.e 11 aug, and waiting for ceremony date and based in Auckland.

Emailed ceremony team and got the following response:
At this time there are no confirmed dates and as per your approval email you will receive notice in 1-4 months time.

Living in a big city has its own advantage and disadvantages, hoping to hear from them soon, another waiting game begins. 😃

It was 13 months last Friday and still no CO assigned. I am starting the process of seeking further advice from the ombudsman as no one will give me a reason why it's taking this long.
I am hoping yours one got approved by now ?

Any aucklander got his/her citizenship ceremony date as yet?

My friend got an email invite to attend citizenship celebration event in 7th September from Auckland civic team, for those who got citizenship before 1 Aug 22. It's an optional event.

I was perusing OIA requests and saw this:

From what we have been hearing there are 28 case officers are working on automatic checks/ new system and 5 case officers are working on the failed auto check Queue. Is this true?
    https://fyi.org.nz/request/20213-cit...by-grant-queue

I wonder if it is true? And I wonder how many officers are looking after paper apps.
