I applied my citizenship Just today and it says processing time from 5-10 months. Hope they speed up the process.
    Thanks for the update!

So the timeline has reduced based on the info they gave you! I applied 3 months ago and in the acknowledgment email it says 9 to 14 months!

Lucky you, UmbrellaR! We were approved a week before you but still have no idea when the certificate will be printed! Did you ask your CO directly or did you receive an email about the certificate?

Would also like to know how you know your certificate printing day in advance?

Called DIA this morning to request a status update - they must be busy as I was on hold for a long time. Noticed after 45 mins I got a new email, and it was the approval! Quickly hung up - although I'll have to contact them to delay the printing as I'll be travelling overseas.

    Applied online early October 2021.

I swear I don't call them all the time, it was a total coincidence!

Congratulations! It looks like they're moving quickly with straight-forward applications and the new online system is picking it up!

I just emailed DIA with an enquiry about my citizenship application from 26/7/21. I was very polite.

Seeing all the people who applied after me getting approved has inspired me to follow up. Hoping for some information soon.

I still haven't heard a single thing even though my application is over the 11 months they quote to be assigned a CO on their website.
I emailed and got the response....

Thank you for your query about citizenship application processing times.

The reason we can process some applications faster than others is because we use automated checks on some applications.

Automated checks can confirm if an applicant is eligible. This includes calculating an applicant's presence in New Zealand. This means these applications need fewer checks by a Citizenship officer.

An applicant may be eligible, but they may not pass the automated checks. This may mean their application takes longer to process.

I am now worried there may of been a fault with the online calculator since I applied two days after the calculator told me I was eligible too. Otherwise I can't think of any of reason in which I wouldn't have passed the automated checks.

Happy for all those who have received theirs so quickly but definitely feeling left out in the cold lol
