    Hi,

Did anyone get the citizenship ceremony date from North Shore, Auckland? I have been approved nearly a month before but nothing yet.

    Cheers

How long it's take you to get citizenship approval?

    Thanks

Citizenship application submitted: 27 August 2022
    Application approved: 21 September 2022

However, I have to visit home in December (it was disclosed during my application) so not sure I will be able to attend ceremony and get the NZ passport by December. Is is okay to contact local council and ask them to put me in a ceremony once I return to NZ? Has anyone done that before?

    Cheers

Yes (and in fact this is what is expected of you), but you must contact the Citizenship Ceremonies Team at the Department of Internal Affairs, and not your local council. Their contact details may be found here.

Thanks Kelerei. I just had a look at my local council next citizenship ceremony which is on 5 December.

I will contact DIA and update them with my travel plans.

    Can I ask what nationality?
And did you check your eligibility online calculator before you apply?
    Thanks

Indian, and yes I did checked eligibility calculator before my application.
I'm single applicant so I guess it went through automated system and didn't required manual checking.
