Seems strange how people are having significantly different processing times. Anything, to your knowledge, that's peculiar about your application?

    Kia ora!

    Timeline update:

    8th Dec 2021 - Visa application received
16th Dec 2021 - AIP received, including communication about payment and withdrawing existed RTW visa application
    17th Dec 2021 - Confirmed the withdraw
    21st Dec 2021 - Payment method received
22nd Dec 2021- Fees paid and received invoice
17th Jan 2022 - Passport dropped off at Manukau
    22nd Jan 2022 - Passport returned

So on the online services status, my resident visa application still reads 'pending' and there's no stamp/sticker on my returned passport.(I think I had the wrong idea after some search) I know this is probably just admin running in the background and I should get the visa letter soon, but seeing many people saying they have the "resident visa approved" just feeling a bit unsatisfied.

NZ Herald article about the scheme: indicates that around 20 per cent of applications were declined (80 per cent success rate). And a new tranch opening soon!

Same here, approved on the 19th Jan and paid on the 21st. Still not had the visa issued. Bit odd since others seem to report getting the visa within a day of payment.

Oh well, I've waited for over 20 years (came to NZ in 1999) so what's a few more days.

    Kia Ora everyone,

Myself and my partner will be applying for the 2021 residency visa on 1st March (preparing for an early morning to get online based on your guys experience) haha

Just prepared all our documents and trying to figure out the fee, it says the application costs 2160, is this with partners included as per:

“This fee is constant regardless of whether any partners or dependents are included in the application”

Or do we pay 2160 each? I will be the main applicant with my partner included

    Thanks in advance ☺️

    Hey

You only pay one fee of $2160 as it's a single application in which you are including your partner.

Separately, please could you tell me what documents you prepared?

    Cheers!

Thank you! Nice to know we will be paying less than we originally thought 😁

INZ have released a checklist to follow:

    https://www.immigration.govt.nz/docu...-checklist.pdf

I have prepared all my previous documents incase we need to upload anything extra but just following the checklist they have provided.

    Hope this helps!

    Timeline update:
4-Jan-2020 - Met an immigration Advisor and inquired about SMC EOI
1-Feb-2020 - Submitted all the documents for EOI submission
Between 15-Feb-2020 to 5-Apr-2020 - Advisor was not reachable, I came to know on 5-Apr-2020 advisor moved to remote location to escape Covid-19 , and had not submitted my EOI, was disappointed EOI selection got suspended already.
    7-Apr-2020 - EOI Submitted

17-Feb-2022 - INZ announced the early acceptance of EOI applicants
21-Feb-2022 - Received the email to apply for 2021 RV from 21-Feb based on my EOI number
21-Feb-2022 - Submitted 2021 RV application under Skilled category at 11:40 PM
    25-Feb-2022 - Received AIP at 10 AM
25-Feb-2022 - I acknowledged to withdraw my EOI at 12 PM
25-Feb-2022 - Received again an AIP with Payment link at 7:30 PM
    26-Feb-2022 - Payment done
3-Mar-2022 - Received e-Visa at 11 AM with Visa start date as 2-Mar-2022.

Quite a journey becoming a proud NZ resident.
