Default Travelling & Booking for MIQ

    Kia Ora ,
Hope this is not a stupid question.
    I don't know how it works , hence I'm asking .

" Is it possible to book for MIQ while you are in NZ in advance."?

Just incase you intend to travel out of NZ but don't want to get stucked out there when you are ready to come back ?

Yes, you can book MIQ while in New Zealand.
(I'd strongly advise not to leave NZ without having MIQ space booked to come back... unless you can afford to be out of country for an unknown period of time!)

Earlier than that for citizens and residents:

    Step 2 — From 11:59pm 13 March 2022

The following fully vaccinated people can enter New Zealand from anywhere in the world and self-isolate upon arrival:

    New Zealand citizens and residents
Other eligible travellers under current border settings.
Skilled workers earning at least 1.5x the median wage may be eligible to be granted an ‘other critical worker’ border exception.
Travellers on a working holiday scheme.
Unvaccinated New Zealand citizens, and those who do not meet New Zealand’s vaccination requirements for self-isolation, who are eligible to enter New Zealand will continue to enter managed isolation and quarantine (MIQ).
