Transporting our car from UK to New Zealand
Hi all - just wondered if anyone here has had experience of taking their vehicle from the UK to New Zealand and if you had any issues while doing so?
We have a 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross (automatic) and want to ship it across to use in NZ. We have heard of someone who had a big problem importing their Mercedes Convertible and ended up having to pay out a lot of money to get their vehicle released back to them.
Just trying to get as much first hand info as possible.
*Husband is expat NZ citizen, but vehicle is registered to me.
Thanks
M

There's nothing very recent on the forum, for the obvious reason that nobody has been able to come in with their belongings in the normal way during the border closures. Here https://www.google.com/search?client...cle+compliance are some old threads, and some more. https://www.google.com/search?q=site...client=gws-wiz You could contact the NZ AA www.aa.co.nz, and ask to be put in touch with their Motoring Advisor. That used to be a man named René Hausin, who was very knowledgeable about all aspects of importing foreign vehicles, but I don't know if he's still there.
