Hello, those of you who applied yesterday/ today - did you get any acknowledgment once you submitted the application/ asked to send your passport to VFS?

I didn't get any - just that the submitted application - it came as submitted on xx (date)

Applied for a visitor visa online today, and did not receive any acknowledgment at all besides the INZ portal saying that my application was submitted today. In fact, I did not get any e-mails for the receipt or application submission (which I found a bit strange). I expect to be asked - eventually - to send my passport to the VAC, but have not received any correspondence on it either. I assume the same is true for yours?

Let's post here for any updates when/if they come.

Yep the same. I have asked my friend who submitted yesterday for an update - because I heard him say about sending the passport to VFS. Will update once I hear back from him

I think it depends on how long the applicant has already spent time in NZ, and how much longer they would want to stay/ visit NZ. For my parents, they have been here for only a week, and was applying for a period of 3 months, so wasn't needed. I think when you fill the form in, it tells you if you need the PCC or not.

Character checks are carried out for:

1. those aged 17 and over applying for residence class visas; and
2. those aged 17 and over applying for temporary entry class visas who intend to stay in New Zealand for 24 months or longer (which includes time already spent in New Zealand prior to the application being made); and
3. other applicants for temporary entry class visas who warrant a character check if the immigration officer decides it is necessary.

Did anyone get email to fill online sponsor form?

I didn't get any, but I think it's expected since I put that I don't have any sponsors anyway.

On the other note, I'm still waiting for any e-mail or correspondence from INZ - so far it's been silence without any confirmation/receipt emails.

Same with me - I applied through https://apply.immigration.govt.nz/. I do see that they have the other link as well, but I was directed to the first one when I tried to apply.
