Transfer of PR sticker to new passport - Any time limit ?

Hi there
I have been issued a New Zealand PR in 2017 on my Indian passport
I have since then moved to Australia and recently taken Australian citizenship
As Australian citizenship are allowed to enter NZ with visa on arrival, I don’t intend to transfer the PR sticker to my new Australian passport
But I don’t want to lose the NZ PR as I may decide to settle in NZ in future and my PR will give me faster access to citizenship vs Australian passport
So my question is , will my PR be cancelled if I don’t transfer the PR sticker to my new passport ?
Is there any time limit in which I need to transfer the sticker or I can do it when ever I want in future even 15-20 years down the line

There is no time limit per se, since a Permanent Resident Visa is valid indefinitely. However, you should be aware that the grant of an Australian Resident Visa on arrival may trigger the cancellation of your Permanent Resident Visa, under section 64(1)(f) of the Immigration Act 2009: to avoid this, you would need to transfer your Permanent Resident Visa to your Australian passport.

Ultimately though, this will make no difference if you choose to return to New Zealand in the future, with regards to the length of time it will take to meet the presence requirement for New Zealand citizenship by grant. You must be present in New Zealand for a prescribed time in the five years preceding your application for New Zealand citizenship, and your absence from New Zealand has almost certainly completely undone all past progress towards meeting this requirement.

I just checked that now there is an option for Evisa also for Permanent Residents

It is ultimately your choice as to whether you would prefer an eVisa or a sticker in the passport itself. You will be asked which option you would like when you complete the INZ 1023 form.
