Default Change of passport - e-Residence visa

    Hello All,

I got PR in 2016 and I have got a new overseas passport (due to expiry) in 2021. However, the ePR (no sticker) has reference to the Old passport number. Noticed that even though the old passport was cancelled, the cancellation print message says that the any visas are still valid on the passport.

I have a travel due in Apr 2023, great if someone could help to know if I need to contact INZ to get a new e-PR with the update passport number (or as long as I carry the old passport that should be fine?)

    Many thanks.

Yes, you've got it. Stating this on the thread for easy reading for anyone coming later - these days, nobody can travel into NZ with a visa on their old passport; it must be transferred to the new one.

Yes we need to get it transferred into the new passport ( a new visa stamp or electronic visa in email). Just did it recently. Paper based application.
Simplest INZ application I can ever think of, free $0, takes about a month or so.
