Do you know why some people wait for 12 months to get their citizenship approved but some people including your situation got their citizenship approved after a month? How come there is such difference?

The Citizenship Office has implemented automated checking of citizenship applications. The ones who are approved quickly are those where said automated checks pass. The ones who take longer are those where not all of those automated checks pass: these then require manual processing (someone needs to investigate why that check failed, and if the applicant does clearly meet the citizenship requirements or needs to be presented to the Minister of Internal Affairs as an individual submission), and the Citizenship Office does not have infinite human resources.

See more information here, which may answer your question in more detail.

Congratulations thonfranc and balam. Good to hear that at least Automated checks are making a big difference. But in my case I'm sure it will take time as i did name change last month just before applying the application. Anyone had name change issue?

Thanks balam, congrats too. The email mentioned that ceremony team will contact us within 1 - 4 months for ceremony details (date and venue)
