    Default Study to work visa

I am a full time student in PhD. I have a student visa allows me to work full time. I got a permanent job. Can I change my visa to work? Does it make any problem in my study? I want to get permanent resident after 3 or 4 years what should I do? Is salary important to get pr? When should I apply for R?

I suggest you should go to talk to the member of staff at your university who oversees foreign students. S/He will be able to tell you about any difference it would make to your situation if you were to change your visa.

https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...-resident-visa and https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...residence-visa are two different paths to getting a Resident visa. You can see there the requirements, to find out if your present situation will fit with them.

Permanent Residence is a different visa for which you can qualify after you have held a Resident visa for at least two years. This page https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...anent-resident has the details.

can someone live with work visa for ever in NZ without getting R or PR? I mean every year renew it? By the way if someone gets permanent job and apply for work visa how long the duration of his visa is?

    No.

Please read the information sheets on the INZ website.

I just thought, maybe you haven't realized how to find Immigration NZ online information. You just put Immigration NZ into your browser (such as Google), which will take you to their main page, and from there, you can use their links to find the visas you are wondering about.

The INZ website gives the government regulations. Admittedly, they aren't simple, but they are carefully written to set out ALL the requirements, not to leave anything out, and not to allow the chance of misinterpretation - they're part of the law of NZ. An applicant has to take the time to understand, and make sure that they meet the requirements. It's each applicant's job to do that, even if it isn't easy for them.

Nobody on the forum is allowed to tell you what you must do, because that is against NZ law. See here https://www.enz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=51538 and here https://www.enz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24859. These threads were put up when the law was changed. We had to get in touch with the NZ government to make sure what we were going to be allowed to do, to keep ENZ forum open. So people can only tell you 'read this', which will be a suggestion that they THINK may help with your question. They can't tell you 'apply for this, then do that'.

If you find, when you have carefully read what is on the INZ website, that you still don't really understand, maybe you should hire a Licensed Immigration Adviser (LIA), as they are the professionals who are allowed to tell you.

As I said in post #4 above, the answer to this is NO.

If your wife had a visa that met the regulations, then she would be able to support you, her partner.
