Default Police certificate for resident application

    Hello,

It is written that for resident application I need to provide police certificate of 6 max. month old from the countries I resided more than one year in past 10 years, is that right? So, I have a question regarding one of the countries I have been 2 years ago. I have temporary resident permit of Poland expires soon. I entered Poland in 08.05.2021 and exit on 04.05.2021 to Germany. But you know that there is no stamp in their system while traveling inside EU. I was in Germany since 18.05.2021. Thereafter, I turned back to Poland and in 22.05.2022 I left there to my country of origin. After one month I come to NZ after my visa approved. So, I had not been in Poland for more than 12 months. I don't know how does immigration office behave with this case? Actually, before that also I was outside of Poland and going to different EU countries and maybe stay in 10 countries totally 21 days. So, I was not in Poland really for 12 months or more. Any idea?
Also, when I apply for NZ visa I provided police certificate before leaving Poland.

See A5.5(b). Multiple visits to Poland that add up to more than one year total (e.g. a 9 month and a 7 month visit) will require you to obtain a Polish police certificate.

As you're recognizing that it's virtually impossible to prove your time in Poland through national, official means, your only hope of doing so would be to get testimony from hotels, or people you stayed with, places where you did business, etc., etc.. All that would be an unbelievable lot of work, and it's not even certain that INZ would accept it without long arguments. In your place, I think I would send in a Polish police certificate - it's not worth arguing the point, all for the sake of those few days, since getting it would be so much easier than the alternative.

    I've experienced this myself.

My wife was supposed to get a police certificate from her former country (Indonesia) after she became a German citizen. Germany doesn't accept dual citizenship (except from EU/EWR countries) by naturalisation. Besides, she has been living in Germany for 13 years.

However, the INZ officer didn't accept the fact that she was no longer an Indonesian citizen and insisted that we get a police certificate from the Indonesian police and suggested that we consult an immigration adviser/lawyer. So we tried to apply for an Indonesian police certificate for her, and in the end we received a letter from the Indonesian police confirming that they were unable to issue a police certificate because she was not currently resident in Indonesia. With this letter, the INZ officer finally agreed and proceeded with the application process.
