Default How Much Fees needs to be Paid for 18 Months Programme (Fee Paying Student Visa)

    Hi,

I am in the process of applying student visa for my brother in an 18-month Masters programme in Auckland. I was of the opinion that we have to pay the first 12 months of tuition fees at the time of visa approval.

However, my LIA is saying that we need to pay the full 18 Months' Tuition Fees at the time of Visa approval.

Can seniors advise what are the rules for paying tuition fees for overseas fee paying students if the Masters Programme is an 18-month programme?

    Regards,

I suggest you ask the member of staff at the university he wants to attend, who has responsibility for overseeing foreign students. This official will have seen others go through getting their student visas, so will probably know what was required.

Thanks @JandM ......... I have asked the institution, they told me that we can pay one-year fees, however, he was not sure about the immigration nz requirements.

is there a specific immigration requirement regarding how much fees should be paid before visa approval??

    Regards

It would appear to be one year or one programme, whichever is the shorter. See U3.10.
