Default Police certificate for skkiled migrant residency application

It is written that we should provide police certificate for the countries we lived more than 1 year for the countries we have spent time 10 years ago till now. Does anybody have any experience that immigration wants police certificate from countries which the applicant lived less than a year.
I lived in USA from May to February around 8 months in 2014. I concern they ask for police certificate. I have clear criminal check and not worry about that. My concern about getting police certificate if they need it or how to get it? Do I need to get it from now on to be on the safe side. I am a third party national.

You will require a police certificate from the USA if you have lived there for 12 months or more in the past 10 years, per A5.5(b). This applies whether this is one visit or intermittently: for example, two periods of 8 months and 5 months will result in a police certificate being required. This is a mandatory lodgment requirement per R2.40: without this, your application will not be accepted for processing.

If you do not require a USA police certificate, but INZ decides to request one anyway, they will contact you.

If you require a USA police certificate, or you do not require a USA police certificate but choose to obtain one anyway, use the INZ police certificate interactive tool. This will tell you what to request and how to request it.

Thank you so much. No I just lived 8 months continuously and that is it. So, did you hear or see anyone living less than a year and immigration wants police certificate from him/her. Yes, i saw that tool a bit confusing.
One way is "The subject of an identification record may also submit a request through an FBI-approved channeler, " but I dont know how can I find one in NZ. Embassy maybe?

This finger print part actually I dont get. Should I do just in a form myself and send or i need to go somewhere to do it?

Your fingerprints should be placed on a standard fingerprint form (FD-258) commonly used for applicant or law enforcement purposes. The FBI will accept FD-258 fingerprint cards on standard white paper stock.

Do a search. Others on the forum have written about getting their fingerprints done. But from what you have said, you don't need anything from the USA.
